I have had the distinct honor of being one of two jurors to judge the Napa Valley Open Studio applicants. 19 very talented and interesting artists applied. Certainly a difficult task. The diversity of talent and subject matter was a delight for the eye.

The jurying process was challenging and difficult but certainly interesting.

The Questions.

This year has been rough as far as art is concerned. While still painting, the pace has slowed considerably and there is a sense of searching. I am sure every artist can relate to that feeling/sensibility at least once in their life. I seem to walk this path every few years.

Napa Open Studio

I have been honored to have been asked to be a juror for the Napa Valley Open Studio organization.

The competition for entry was exciting and challenging to judge. I enjoyed the diversity of artwork, style and medium.

Art in the Park

I was recently asked to be a member of a 3 person jury for the Arts in the Part at the University Club in Sarasota, FL. It is a community in a very prestigious location and the show is highly respected. To be asked as a juror was an honor.

Summer Show Opens

The summer show opened last Friday night at the:

Bolivar Gallery
506 s. Pineapple Ave
Sarasota FL 34236

Phone 941 366 1649

This is a series of small works by all the gallery artists. My mask series is on display and apparently is causing quite a bit of conversation. All good.

I had surgery that day and couldn’t make it to the opening.
